Research shows that getting babies into a good routine right from these early days encourages better sleeping habits and may help her learn to sleep through the night sooner.

Hi! I know from experience that having a baby is a joyous time", but it can also feel daunting, especially when you’re not having as much sleep as you’re used to. Here are my top five tips to help your baby learn to sleep longer, based on years of research, listening to other parents and, all importantly, experience with my own kids.
The Pampers Soothology™ routine is in essence all about establishing a good bedtime routine. However, daytime naps are an important part of this too. Lunchtime naps help babies feel rested; ready and raring to enjoy the afternoon. Many mums also say that if baby misses their lunchtime nap it can really impact on the bedtime routine too. Being overtired can make your baby frustrated, making it harder for her to settle.
All this will help your baby to not just fall asleep, but stay asleep for as long as possible at night.
Keep the nursery at a consistent temperature so your baby is comfortable and doesn’t wake up because she is too hot or too cold. A room temperature gauge and a baby sleeping bag can help.
Babies can often get quite hot, but it’s also important she doesn’t get too cold either – so most mums find that layers are the best way to manage this. Rather than needing to change an outfit (which let’s face it we need to do enough of after feeding and playing!) you can just add or remove layers as you feel is best for your baby.
Try as much as possible to put your baby down to sleep, be it naps or at night, in the same place – ideally their nursery. Make sure it’s a soothing and happy place to be, with a mobile above the cot, an age-appropriate comforter in the cot (a very small blanket, often with hooks and loop tabs that they can play with) and cuddly toys around the room to amuse her. Black-out curtains can also help your baby fall asleep, and stay asleep, as she learns the difference between day and night.
Wait until your baby is at least a year old before putting any toys in her cot, as younger babies do not have the coordination to move something away that is covering their face.
If mummy and daddy have been away from baby all day it’s perfectly natural that you will be excited to see your baby and spend some quality time with her. While it’s hard, try and keep this a relaxing, bonding time rather than excited and energetic. This will help ensure your baby is well rested and raring to go when you do manage to spend the day with her.
While your baby may not sleep for 12 hours straight at this age, there are enough reasons why he can wake up during the night, and so you don’t want a wet nappy to be one of them!

While your baby can wee up to 12 times a night, the link between weeing and baby's sleep is not fully understood. However,the result of new research, pioneered by Pampers, offers interesting findings.
The study has discovered that the actual motion of having a wee can potentially wake your baby up. Then as your little one wees more and more throughout the night the wetness can build and may disturb her sleep.
